Our Mission

Churches’ Center for Land and People is an ecumenical, faith based organization inviting all people of good will to address vital issues of the Earth and its people. CCLP started during the 1980’s farm crisis as a way to offer fellowship, support and encouragement to rural people especially farmers and rural church leaders.

  • We work together to integrate earth stewardship, economic justice, community and spirituality around issues related to agriculture and food.
  • We work to strengthen rural life, improve rural and urban relationships and foster unity and help through networking and education, prayer and celebration, action and reflection.
  • We endeavor to restore people of all faiths to a right relationship with our Created World and our Creator.
  • Educate individuals and communities about practical and just solutions for developing a sustainable and healthy food . systems 
  • Prosper the growth of producer and consumer relationships and the commitment of all communities to the mission of just and sustainable agricultural practices/models
  • Support efforts of the Harvest of Hope farm crisis fund   which offers timely emergency small grants to farmers in financial crisis
  • Offer prayerful and spiritual perspective and support  for the activities related to our mission so as to honor the Creator’s gifts through stewarding the earth's resources and defending the dignity of the human family
