Supporting the spiritual integrity of rural life and farming.

The Churches’ Center for Land and People is an ecumenical organization that brings together churches, groups and individuals to strengthen rural life and the ministries of faith communities in Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois. The Center works to integrate earth stewardship, economic justice, community and spirituality around issues related to agriculture and food.

A major emphasis since 2004 has been linking farmers to consumers through Winter Farmers' Markets & Meals for Hope held in local churches or parish halls in a multi-state area during the winter months. These markets and meals have provided farmers with increased production, sales and marketing opportunities in the winter season while educating consumers about the importance of buying locally-raised, sustainably-produced food. A percentage of the proceeds are donated to the Harvest of Hope Fund an initiative that offers financial help and hope to farm families in financial distress.
